Free machine embroidery works well over natural linen made into a lampshade. The bulb backlighting the scene gives a sense of the natural sunlight on the landscape.

Any favourite landscape with a suitable linear form can be wrapped around a lampshade, or smaller vignettes placed at suitable intervals if it is not possible to render the view in a 360 degree format. I start by looking at the photos of the views you want to use and chatting over the various options and possibilities.

Prices start at £175 for a similar 30cm diameter shade - other sizes, both smaller and larger are available.

On a smaller scale my Starry Starry night candle mantles are designed to wrap around vintage glasses containing a nightlight. The light sparkles through the tiny holes like stars in the sky.

My cushions are worked over luxurious petrol green velvet. They have monstera leaves which I have drawn and stencilled using soft gold fabric paint and embellished with soft gold stitching to pick out the veins. Contemporary loveliness!
