Closeup of original free machine embroidery of "The Rowan Thief", featuring the blackbird who lives in my garden, eating rowan berries. Original was inspired by my love of the works of Morris, worked over green velvet and organza with metallic thread and sequins. As the green velvet gave a wintry air to the piece it seemed appropriate to place him against . wintry setting of rowan.
